'Football to Protect Vulnerable Women from Exploitation'

A week ago today in Nairobi (Friday 27th June), the Homeless World Cup Foundation was part of an exciting Pan-African Summit ahead of the Africa Women's Cup being held in Kenya's capital city.

Alongside four of our Homeless World Cup Member Countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe), we proudly launched our report at the Summit on the 'Football to Protect Vulnerable Women from Exploitation' project, in partnership with the FIFA Foundation.

This initiative is more than just a game — it's a lifeline to so many.

At the Summit, which was attended by over 200 people, Zoe Hopkins, International Network Manager at the Homeless World Cup Foundation, shared that over 850 women and girls, alongside 500 boys and men, have already been empowered through football and this project over the past year.

The transformative power of sport and in particular football is helping to create safer communities across Africa.

Join us in celebrating this incredible journey! Together, we can amplify voices and uplift lives through sport and football.
