First time winner of men’s Homeless World Cup incoming in Oslo 2025

History is being made here at the 2025 Oslo Homeless World Cup as four teams who have never lifted the men’s Homeless World Cup trophy reached the semi-finals for the first time.

Poland, who finished runners‐up in 2005 and 2007, saw off 2014 and 2023 Men’s champions Chile 6-4 in a thrilling encounter to secure their place in the semi-final.

Multiple tier‐2 winners Portugal, who finished in 5th place in 2024 in Seoul, won a close tie against 2023 finalists England 4-3 to progress to their first men’s Homeless World Cup semi-final.

Hosts back in 2006 in Cape Town, South Africa, also secured their place in the semi-final with a hard-fought 9-7 win over 2007 and 2011 men’s champions Scotland.

And in a Homeless World Cup all time classic game, Egypt came back from 3-1 down against five-time men’s Homeless World Cup champions Mexico 4-3 in a match of high drama.

Semi-finals take place at 18.40 CET tonight in Oslo with Egypt taking on South Africa and Portugal playing Poland. Whatever happens, there’ll be a new name on the trophy tomorrow.
