Nike Indonesia Supports Indonesian National Team for the Poznan 2013 Homeless World Cup

In this 2×5 minute game called Goal for Give, every goal was converted to IDR 3,000,000 ($315) to be donated to Rumah Cemara’s football programme.

On Tuesday, April 9, a team from Rumah Cemara played against a team made up of south-east Asian Nike high officials during an internal event and won their support.

Not only did  Nike Indonesia show their support and commitment to the Indonesian Homeless Team that day, but they also gave players the opportunity to play at Gelora Bung Karno, the National Stadium of Indonesia.

In the historical stadium with a 100,000 people capacity, 16 players from disadvantaged communities, challenged the Nike team.

A total of 21 goals were scored, which means IDR 63,000,000 ($4833) in support for the National Homeless Team.

Ginan Koesmayadi, one of the founders of Rumah Cemara even received an award from Nike Indonesia after speaking on sports for development with the high-officials and top Managers of Nike, South-East Asia, after the game.

The internal event also involved other sports, which brought a total of four teams together and included running, football, women’s running, and basketball.
