Running for the Cup!

Posted on 22/05/2008

Scotland Wins Copenhagen 2007 Homeless World CupThree leading Scottish-based businesses ran their socks off for the Homeless World Cup in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay on Sunday 25 May 2008.

Three teams from Baker Tilly, three teams from KPMG and one team from Moviecom.tv have between them raised £6,000. This will enable one national Homeless World Cup team from an economically poorer nation to travel to this year’s Homeless World Cup in Melbourne 1-7 December 2008.  You will shortly be able to watch a small film of their fine efforts at www.homelessworldcup.tv

Mel Young, President, Homeless World Cup: “I believe fundamentally that there should be no homelessness in the world. The Homeless World Cup is changing lives. If everybody was to do something, however small, it makes a big difference and can change the world. That employees from KPMG, Baker Tilly, Moviecom have got together to form teams to run in the Edinburgh marathon is a great example of this in action, a great act to follow. Let’s hope they win.”
