Later today Scotland and Poland will compete for the Homeless World Cup Trophy in the big final. At this morning's press conference both teams not only expressed their confidence in carrying home the trophy, showed their gratitude towards the tournament and burst into their team song.

Polish Captain"We will beat Scotland in Copenhagen,” are the daring words from the captain of the Polish team, speaking through a translator. The answer is just as confident from the captain of the Scottish team, “I am sure we will cope. We have scored 95 goals there are more to come.”

Today the two teams faced the press and each other at a press-conference in the Homeless World Cup Media Centre. Mel Young, founder of the Homeless World Cup, congratulated the teams on making it to the final. “You have been great ambassadors for your countries and homeless around the world,” he added.

Scottish CaptainThe players were asked how it was to be homeless in their respective countries. One of the Polish players explained the sad existence of a homeless but pointed out what the tournament had given him on a personal level “We are happy because in soccer we just play. In soccer we forget that we are homeless,” he said. One Scottish player spoke of his experience on a methadone program before he kicked the habit through training to play for Scotland.

Spontaneously the Scottish team burst into a team-song and the Polish players answered with a roar "Polska!"  “Let me remind you that this is not the Eurovision Song Contest,” Mel Young said. "On to the pitch for the final day. May the best team win."
