A short chat with Kim Milton

Our volunteer tournament reporter, June, had a short chat with Kim Milton before he went on the pitch to referee Tuesdays match between Scotland and Portugal.
What do you think about being here?
”Exciting. And a nice atmosphere. People are enjoying themselves and that’s the most important.”
How is it to referee these kinds of street football matches?
“The rules are good. Being a referee is the same as normally.”
How are the players behaving on the pitch?
“So far they have behaved nicely. I also came by here yesterday to have a look, because I work close to the Town Hall Square.”
You were here for the Denmark – Kazaczstan match. What do you think of it?
“Well, I saw the last part with the penalty shots. It was very exciting, that’s what’s so charming about this.”
Have you been refereeing at event like this before?
“Street football yes. But I’ve never been involved in social inclusion events concerning homeless people before.”
Would you like to do it again if someone asked you?
“Definitely. It’s exiting and people are having fun. If only the weather was better, everything would be perfect.”
You will be back here for some of the other days in the tournament. When is that?
“Friday and Saturday.”
Are you going to be on the pitch for the final?
“Actually I don’t know that yet.”
You say that you’ve stopped by to see some of the matches. Have you been following the match result on our website as well?
“Yes, I’ve checked out some results once in a while, but I’ve also had a chance to follow the tournament in the newspapers, where they cover it quite well.”
