An Edinburgh-based Scottish football blogger is aiming to raise cash for the Homeless World Cup with one of Scotland's first 24 hour blogging.

Tom Hall of the Scottish Football Blog will research and write a post every hour from midday on Saturday 19th November with each post being a minimum of 500 words long.

Topics will be suggested through Twitter and in a series of guest posts written by other bloggers from Scotland and beyond.

Tom said: "The idea of a ‘blogathon’ came up when I was thinking of ways to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Scottish Football Blog.

"The Homeless World Cup is one of the charities close to my heart so this seemed a great way of offering a little help to two great causes.

"With Scotland the reigning Homeless World Cup champions the time seems right to get football fans and bloggers involved in a fundraising effort.

"The thought of writing at least 12,000 words in 24 hours is daunting but hopefully I can remain awake enough to keep people interested and raise some cash for the Homeless World Cup."

The Scottish Football Blog, set up by Tom in 2006, chronicles the game in Scotland and has been featured by The Guardian, the Daily Record and STV Sport.

Tom will also be supporting the fantastic work of Alzheimer Scotland.
