Former Homeless World Cup player Rachel McLean has signed a professional contract with Scottish Premier League side Hibernian FC.

Rachel was in the Scotland women's team that competed in the Homeless World Cup in Paris last year.

The manager of the Hibernian women’s side, Willie Kirk, said: “Since Rachel has come into the club, she has shown potential to progress.” (To keep up to date with Hibernian Ladies, go to www.hibsgirls.co.uk).

David Duke, CEO of Street Soccer Scotland, added: “Rachel's development as a player has been aided by her involvement in the Homeless World Cup. I’m sure experiences such as netting the opener against Brazil and playing in front of large crowds in Paris will stand her in good stead. Hibernian Ladies are one of the top women's club sides in the country, and they have an excellent coaching team who will help Rachel unlock her true potential.

"Rachel has also developed off the pitch. She recently completed our Street Soccer Plus course gaining SQA qualifications and is now delivering Youth Coaching with Street Soccer Scotland as well as assisting on our new  Education Programme in Schools. Everyone at Street Soccer wishes her all the best.”
