National Basketball Association star Steve Nash has been honoured by Street Soccer USA.
NBA all-Star Steve Nash of the Phoenix Suns was presented with the prestigious 'Sport for Social Change Award at the French Cultural Embassy'.
The Sport for Social Change Awards recognise national figures and organisations, from people overcoming homelessness to professional athletes and businesses promoting social change.
For his exceptional dedication to social consciousness through sport, Street Soccer USA Founder and CEO, Lawrence Cann, presented the award to Nash at an intimate VIP reception at the Embassy in New York last month.
The French Embassy hosted the awards in honour of the Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup, which will take place at the Champs de Mars, Paris, France from 21-28 August 2011.
