Team USA will present a team comprising players from cities across the whole of the nation at the Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup. The USA program is flourishing and interest in street soccer across the nation is burgeoning. This summer players from 12 cities including San Francisco, California, Anne Arbor, Michigan, Austin, Texas, and New York, travel to Washington DC for the USA Homeless Cup. By building relationships of trust through shared experience on the soccer pitch we have seen the success rate remain above 80 percent and our players set and achieve loftier goals than ever before. World Ranking: Copenhagen 2007 - 36th; Cape Town 2006 - 46th, Edinburgh 2005 - 27th (Fair Play Award Winners); Gothenburg 2004 - 13th; Graz 2003 - 9th

Street Soccer 945, the USA's leading street soccer program has continued to compete in local leagues at home in Charlotte, NC. The Charlotte program, one of many preparing for the Homeless USA Cup next summer in Washington, DC has expanded to field two full teams that play in local adult leagues and both are doing well. The Street Soccer Stars play on Tuesday nights and are made up of former Homeless World Cup players like the Mcgregor brothers and Elmer and Daniel from Copenhagen and players like Craig from 2006, as well as new players that have shown exceptional talent. On Wednesday nights, Street Soccer 945 (945 is the physical address of the shelter where our program operates) plays in a secondary division and is made up all sorts of eager athletes who are learning the game and that just want a chance to be a part of the team. An update on these two groups follows. You can also go directly to our blog by following this link:
