Homeless in Healthy Sweden

Sweden has homeless people. Why? This is a question that we wish we had an answer to.

The Swedish team is made up of players from Stockholm and Gothenburg, drawn from homeless shelters where many are fighting addictions. Football is a way of redefining their lives. Faktum and Situation Stockholm are two steet-papers, starting to partner with Homeless World Cup in 2003. Final Position: Milan 2009 - 34th; Melbourne 2008 - 44th; Copenhagen 2007 - 44th; Cape Town 2006 - 40th; Edinburgh 2005 - 22nd; Gothenburg 2004 - 7th; Graz 2003 - 8th

As one player says: “"In the team I feel needed. I lost all my friends and I had no joy in life until I started with the football. This gives me energy to deal with other things in my life."
