Prime Minister of Slovenia mr. Janez Janša gave huge support on Saturday during the friendly match between Slovenian and Italian Homeless teams. After giving a speach during the opening ceremony, the prime minister also started the match with an opening kick off.

Ljubljana, Slovenia 26th of May - Saturday afternoon the capital of Slovenia experienced a whole new football day. In the center of the capitol two national homeless teams met for the first time. Italy as two times world champions and Slovenia as a new commer to the Homeless World cup. More than 1000 people were cheering the two teams as they where playing some great soccer.

Slovenia has it's first national homeless team. Coach Ales Ceh selected 8 players to form the first Slovenian Homeless team. They come from all over the country and the average age is 35. Slovenia has one woman player with strong motivation to kick the ball in the net.

Ljubljana - Slovenia had it's second try out in the capital city of Ljubljana. First we had two teams with homeless from Ljubljana and a third team made up with TV stars and singers. Huge support from all over the country is giving our players an extra motivation....

Slovenia has organised it's first set of trials on 28 February where 20 players who are homeless played a tournament in Ljubljana.
