In 2003 the St. Petersburg street paper, Put Domoj (Journey Home), organised a team for the Homeless World Cup. Four years on the Russian media turned out to the national selection tournament to openly discuss the issues of homelessness and Russia deservedly went on to lift the Trophy in Cape Town.
