Posted by Poland - 16.05.2011

The Polish Street Soccer Championship Finals took place recently drawing hundreds of homeless and socially disadvantaged footballers from across the country.

24 teams had taken part in the regional stages of the competition, with 16 teams qualifying for the finals held in the capital Warsaw.

With all the players participating in the tournament in contention for a place in the Poland squad for the Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup the event was a competitive and enjoyable experience for all.

The tournament was won by Hetmania Poznań who overcame Życie Kalisz in the final, whilst Przystań Życia Gostynin took third place.

Poland will confirm the eight players selected for the event later this month.
