Another Big Impact for Paraguay?

All the players in the team have experienced homelessness and poverty and have been helped by Junior Achievement’s soccer programme.
Miguel Angel Soto Portillo grew up without running water or electricity along with his 13 siblings. The nearest school to where he lived was 120 kilometres away and the nearest hospital was 115 kilometres away. Before joining Junior Achievement’s agricultural school, Luca Zaria Avolos Vera lived in a shelter with no floor and no running water. To help feed his 10 brothers and sister, Lucas had to work on a farm from a very young age. Now the players are proud to be part of Paraguay’s Homeless World Cup squad and will hope to make a big impact in Copenhagen following their Cape Town debut.
