Nigeria's Street Soccer Cup: 2007 Finals

The Street Soccer League Cup finals in Nigeria will be held from July 12 – 15, 2007 to select Nigeria’s team for a future Homeless World Cup.
The tournament will feature 16 teams of young boys and girls drawn from the four project centers; Ajegunle, Abesan, Agege, & Ikeja at the Astro TURF 2000 with a seating capacity of 1, 000 people.
The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) will beam the opening and closing days of the tournament live to the sitting rooms of an estimated 40 million audience.
This is further to the strategic partnership with Search and Groom, Skills and Schemes International, Astro Soccer Nigeria Limited and the Nigerian Television Authority.
This tournament is aimed at developing an articulate empowerment and employment opportunity for poor, homeless and unemployed young Nigerians.
The uniqueness of the street soccer fiesta is the curricular programmes to be conducted during the mornings of every match day. Topics to be discussed include civic education, AIDS/HIV awareness programme.
