In preparation for Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup Street Soccer League Cup (SSLC) Preliminary matches are going on in all Search and Groom project centers to choose teams that will qualify for the Street Soccer League Cup (SSLC). Finals which will take place in July at AstroTURF, Ikoyi, Lagos.

To clarify any local confusion, Search and Groom is the designated partner of the Homeless World Cup in Nigeria responsible for engaging people who are homeless in changing their lives for the better through football.

Olayiwola Oyegunle Daniel, squats with friends, and is under the threat of eviction by the landlord. He was at the Cape Town 2006 Homeless World Cup and says his experience was fantastic in helping him achieve his dream of being a responsible member of society.

The Street Soccer League Cup finals in Nigeria will be held from July 12 – 15, 2007 to select Nigeria’s team for a future Homeless World Cup.

Search and Groom are the organisation behind the Nigerian Homeless World Cup team, which began in the Ajegunle slum area of Nigeria’s capital city, Lagos. Becca McInally caught up with Yomi Kuku founder during his recent trip to Edinburgh.
