Wynton Rufer - Fifa Oceania Player of the Century took some of the Auckland players and Close Up's (TVNZ) Mark Sainsbury through a light training session in Victoria Park last week.
Organised by trustee Steve McLuckie from LIFEWISE our partner in Auckland it was an opportunity for the players to meet Wynton and pick up some new training tips.
Wynton's Footballing Honours Include:
•FIFA Oceania Player of the Century •FIFA World XI - Tokyo 1995 / Sydney 1999 / Capetown 2007 •10 Caps U-19´s and 39 Caps for the New Zealand All Whites - Spain 1982 World Cup member vs. Scotland, Russia and Brasil •Top 20 all time leading goal scorers list in European Cup Competition (before the new Champions League format.) •7years in the Swiss Pro League with FC Zurich, FC Aarau and Grasshoppers Zurich •6 years in the German Bundesliga with SV Werder Bremen and 1.
