In memory of Selwyn Wallace
Posted by New Zealand - 27/08/2008
It’s with great sadness that we report the death of Selwyn Wallace. Selwyn had been up in Auckland for a couple of months and had been using the services at the LIFEWISE centre during that time, coming in for meals and seeking assistance and support...
Selwyn was a quite a quiet and private man but was a pleasure to be around. A very interesting man once he got talking, who also liked to help others around him. It was clear from conducting support on his behalf that he was a well thought of man who many people, particularly those from his time in Huntly, held close to their hearts. Selwyn had also come down to play football in Victoria Park on occasion and although not an exceptionally gifted footballer he added greatly to the sessions he was a part of. Selwyn had been a deeply troubled man over the time that he’d been known at the LIFEWISE centre, it is a tragedy that more could not be done to assist him. He will be greatly missed by both staff and clients here at the centre as well as those who knew him through Street Football Aotearoa.
