This week we take a look at our national partner in Namibia.
The Homeless World Cup national partner in Namibia is the ‘Big Issue Namibia’.
The Big Issue Namibia organises a street soccer programme engaging people who are homeless and excluded and giving them the chance to attend the Homeless World Cup.
Established in 2002, The Big Issue Namibia is a non-profit job-creation initiative. They publish a general interest magazine that is sold by a vendor force of unemployed, homeless and socially excluded adults.
Through their work they also provide a social development programme giving vendor and other participants support, training, counselling and the opportunity to play sport regularly.
The ‘Brave Warriors’ will attend their 7th tournament at the Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup, they finished 28th at the previous competition in Rio
