"A Door to Freedom and a Worthy Life..."

Delta uses sport, especially football, to stress the importance of commitment and, by providing coaching and financial assistance, helps the players overcome their problems and beat homelessness.
For the players football has provided “a door to freedom and a worthy life.” The Mexican coach Jorge Didier de la Rosa played for Canada during the Edinburgh 2005 Homeless World Cup. Finishing 4th in Cape Town, the team is going to be a real threat in Copenhagen. Definitely one to watch.

Delta Service hired me as a coach to promote the principles of this tournament. I was the former coach of team Canada in 2005 and 2006. I am very proud to be appointed as the Mexican team coach and I am working on this proyect. We are having the first tournament in a remote comunity of Veracruz where the population is extremely poor and alcoholism is their way to socialize. There are a couple of teams training at Mexico city getting ready to participate in the tournament that would decide what players are going to represent Mexico at Copenhagen. I am blow away of seeing people changing their lifes already, putting away drugs and traying to get healthier to play soccer. This is inspiring. I hope people around the globe are finding the hope, the strengh and the willingness to change their lifes. Cheers Viva el futbol.

Congratulations to all the people involved in such worthy project. Saving young people, through sports, from a poor, worthless environment must be a huge work and I believe you are doing it well. My cheers to the Mexican team and a special greeting to Daniel Copto, he knows why.
