Kenya team for Rio 2010

The National Street Soccer Selection Tournament for Rio 2010 Homeless World Cup was organized by Kenya Homeless Street Soccer Association (KHSSA) who brought together the most talented and deserving homeless players from all its eight zones to pick the eight players to represent Kenya in this year’s Homeless world cup in Rio, Brazil.

3000 players participate in Kenya Tournament

REPORT A street soccer tournament sponsored by UNICEF under the provincial director of sports Nairobi in conjunction with Kenya Homeless Street Soccer Association successfully came to an end in a big style on 14/06/08 in Makongeni sports ground. The tournament was played in four zones which were the slums of Babadogo, Makongeni, Kibera and Huruma, 256 teams participated in the tournament thus attracting around 3000 players from all over Nairobi and the national team was selected.

The players with the Kenyan team all come from the Hurama Cranes Street Soccer Team, a side created to help youths in the slum areas of Mathare and Huruma.
