Optimism for the Future

All eight players who so proudly represented Hong Kong China in Edinburgh 2005 and Cape Town 2006 significantly improved their lives – a goal this year’s side will be keen to repeat.
In June 2006 a two-day charity tournament was held to help raise funds for the team. A massive success, the tournament attracted 22 teams from both social organizations and private companies. As well as securing funds and raising the profile of the side the tournament gave the team competitive experience of matches using Homeless World Cup rules. They hope to repeat the extravanganza in preparation for the Copenhagen 2007 Homeless World Cup where they will be warmly welcomed by the Danish audience.
