Hong Kong In 2005, a group of social workers, soccer coaches and social entrepreneurs formed the 'Society of Community Organization & Wofoo Social Enterprises of Hong Kong'.

Hong Kong was first represented in the 2005 Homeless World Cup. Thanks to the effort of team manager Alex Chan, a donation of about HK$240,000 was secured for the tournament in Edinburgh. The Society for Community Services (SoCo), on the other hand, was responsible for forming the first ever Hong Kong Homeless World Cup team. Affectionately nicknamed “The Dawn”, the team finished 21st among 27 teams. From 2006, Wofoo Social Enterprises joined forces with SoCo in organizing the Homeless World Cup campaign. To cover the selecting, training and traveling expenses in the region of HK$200,000, a funding-raising tournament was established and played annually. Corporations and supporting organizations support the campaign by sending teams and making donations to the fund. We are also going to establish a football league for disadvantaged people in 2013.
