The Greek team in full force.

Posted by Greece - 13/04/2007

The Greek team consists mainly of homeless people as well as asylum seekers.

Training continues every Monday at the “Rouf Stadium”, which is situated in central Athens. The training ground is virtually a ten minute walk from the famous Acropolis!

It is important to note that GALERA has asked many organizations (governmental and non-governmental) which work with disadvantaged people to be involved. The response has been overwhelming. Organizations, such as ARSIS and KLIMAKA (both members of FEATSA), PRAKSIS, the Athens Volunteer Service, ΚΕΤΗΕΑ etc., are all part of the exciting project, while the Athens Institute for the Homeless is the main sponsor of the Greek team.

We hope the training and programme is going really well. We are looking forward to Greece participating for the first time this year. Good luck!! See you in Copenhagen. So are the team contenders for the trophy do you think?
