Volunteer Matthew McDonald reports on his experience in Ghana where the local community was working together to build their own street soccer pitch for practice.

Team Ghana is organised by Gimat Volunteer Network operating soccer development programmes in Accra and 5 other cities uniting street youth confronted by homelessness, drugs and poverty. Their goal is to create a headquarters training academy with street soccer pitches and sports equipment in 10 cities in Ghana. World Ranking; Copenhagen 2007 - 10th; Cape Town 2006 - 20th

Eugene will star in the national team from Ghana in Copenhagen. He became homeless due to unemployment since on leaving school there was no chance for him to secure a job.
