24 Teams, 200 Players - The 2007 German Streetsoccer Championships

The 2007 German streetsoccer champions are Jugendwerksiedlung Hannover, the team that won in the final against Odyssee Kiel, the 2006 champions. The final score 5:4.
Jugendwerksiedlung is a home for homeless juveniles. The team from streetpaper Hinz & Kunzt (Hamburg) came in third, beating streetpaper fiftyfifty (Duesseldorf). The fair play - trophy was awarded to German Championships newcomer Therapeutische Wohngemeinschaft Reutlingen.
24 teams, 200 players from across the whole of Germany took part in the 2 day tournament on Schlossplatz, the central place in Stuttgart. Many spectators and media watched a high class sport event, supported by celebrities such as Prime Minister Oettinger. It was financed by the core sponsors Vodafone and Porsche.
At the end of the tournament Germany's Homeless World Cup national coach Dieter Hollnagel invited 12 players from Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Duesseldorf, Hannover, Celle, Gifhorn, Hamburg and Kiel to take part in the 2007 Homeless World Cup preparations. A further selection process will determine the 8 players that go on to represent their country in Copenhagen this summer.
