France's International Approach

The French Homeless World Cup team is made up of homeless players from across, France, Europe and Africa.
The team is selected after eight social organisations enter the French Streetsoccer Tournament. One player from each organisation will make the trip to Copenhagen. These organisations form the ‘Back Into Action Work Group’ aiming to bring out the best in homeless people by involving them in sport and providing them with a stimulating social environment. The French team’s first competitive outing came at the famous Parc de Princes stadium in Paris in a tournament organised by Secours Catholique, Paris St Germain Football Club (PSG) and a group of PSG supporters. Training is held every weekend to work on skills and fitness. The bonding at these sessions aims to promote a feeling of belonging among the players.
