Team Columbia will make a special debut at the Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup fielding a team of all female players. Organised by “ Asociación Bogotá Colombia - Gente para la Gente Internacional their street soccer development involves education, housing and drug rehabilitation for socially excluded people across Colombia. Operating in Bogata it reaches out to most big cities and currently involves 100 players in 12 teams. Their ambition is to build the football project for women including a Columbian street league. The all girls’ side for Colombia have now had their pre-selection for the team that will make Colombia’s grand debut at the Melbourne 2008 Homeless World Cup.
The team is made up of women and girls who are or have been homeless at one stage of their life.
