Football passion at the exhibition „herz:rasen“ in Vienna

The exhibition puts a special focus on The Homeless World Cup. One of the main cultural highlights going along with the EURO 2008 is the football exhibition at the Künstlerhaus Wien organised by Technisches Museum Wien in collaboration with "2008 - Österreich am Ball", the association that organises the EURO 2008 in Austria.

Starting 4th of April 2008 at the Künstlerhaus Wien, opened until 6th of July Karlsplatz 5, 1010 Wien

On the evening of 3rd April the exhibition about football „herz:rasen“in Künstlerhaus Vienna was opened in a grant ceremony by Heinz Fischer, the president of the republic of Austria. Official representants of the republic of Austria, the Austrian FA and a lot of football „passionistas“ were invited to the opening ceremony. For example Wilhelm Molterer (Vice-chancelor), Reinhold Lopatka (state secretary for sport), Susanne Riess-Passer (president of „2008 – Österreich am Ball“), Beppo Mauhart (former Austrian FA president and Vice-president of „2008 – Österreich am Ball), Friedrich Stickler (Austrian FA president), Kurt Ehrenberger (Vienna FA president), Josef Hickersberger (coach of the Austrian national football team), Otto Baric and Alfred Riedl (former coaches of the Austrian national football team), Herbert Prohaska, Anton Polster and Michael Konsel (former Austrian football international stars) and the Austrian Homeless World Cup Team. Europe in football fever. To "kick off the season" Technisches Museum Wien invites you to visit "herz:rasen - the Football Exhibition".

Shaking, sweating and cheering are on the agenda at this interactive exhibition. Displayed in an area of 2.000 m² is the phenomenon that is football. The main focus of the exhibition is European football over the past 30 years.

The exhibition explores the lives of players and fans and all-time football heroes and revives several of the most unforgettable footballing moments. And in addition it invites everyone to join in. At various test stations visitors can compare their physical ability and skill with other footballers. Learn to dive like a professional. It takes practice to fall properly! Try to score goals at the Kick Off Station. Have you got what it takes to be a footballer?

Visite the exhibition and donate for the Austrian Homeless World Cup Team You can get a lot of information by pictures and several videos about the Homeless World Cup – that has it’s origin in Austria and will take place for the 6th time in Melbourne in December 2008. Show your talent as a goal getter at the Kick off station in the interactive Homeless World Cup exhibition room. You can get a ball and try to score at the penalty area for a small fee, the total amount is donated for the Austrian Homeless World Cup Team.
