Street Socceroos Safer than a Swiss Bank and more powerful than a Calcutta Curry!

Towards the business end of the Homeless World Cup the 48 teams are being matched against others of similar standard competing for the 11 trophies and awards up for grabs. With this in mind the Aussies have certainly hit their stride beating Switzerland with precision and finesse.

Josh played with true form finding the back of the net on four occasions dazzling bewildered Swiss players. Team veteran Bushy in his trademark casual approach graced the pitch and copping a couple of Swiss elbows fired up and scored a goal off his right foot from well within his own half prompting comments from the crowd like “Jeez that had some Pepper on it!”

Stand in goalie and adopted team member from the Danish reserve team Henrik "The Flying Dane" has been complainig as he has felt lonely in the goals now that the Street Socceroos have found form and he has far less goals to save!!

Australia 6 Switzerland 1

The Aussie’s blitzed India late in the days play 7 goals to 2. Highly skilled and recent Australian citizen Sani pushed through the pain of his hamstring injuries and was moving the ball around the Indians more than Warney on the fifth day of a Mumbai test match. He slotted 4 goals and had the fans on their feet with his dazzling displays of foot work and trickery. Green and gold headed Aaron was carried from the pitch after rolling his ankle in a crack in the surface that would have had Tony Greg calling for the “crack cam!”

Australia 7 India 2

A special bond with the Zimbo’s! –

With the troubles facing the People of Zimbabwe under President Mugabe’s regime the Street Socceroos have strived to help the Zimbabwean team with their trip to the Homeless World Cup. After friendships sparked between the two teams last year in Capetown the Aussies and Zimbo’s have been supporting each other with great zest this year, cheering each other on at the top of their voices. During the Street Socceroos victory over India last night, the Zimbabweans were in the stands chanting and singing traditional songs to the delight of the Danish crowd.

Tonight the two teams are going out for dinner together at a local Danish restaurant.
