Afghanistan 2007

After 27 years of war sport is a low priority in a country dominated by poverty and instability. Organisations like SDF are now taking steps towards enhancing the level of sports provision here.
The Afghan team was established at the beginning of 2005 and has grown to 20 players, with regular training sessions with a qualified coach. The players are yet again eagerly anticipating their trip to Copenhagen. As Namatullah says: “My purpose will be to learn about the life of other people in the world, let them know about the problems facing the Afghans, to play well and come back with good memories of the tournament and the friends I have met.”
