Honorary Ambassadors for Team Korea

In South Korea, famous soccer figures who vibed on the purpose of the Homeless World Cup were appointed as honorary ambassadors for Team Korea, helping the Team as well as The Big Issue Korea, the official partner.

Byung-Ji Kim (Gyeongnam FC): “Clearly there will be many chances to shoot and lose points at the same time. So take it easy. If your team loses one, your teammates will make two. What matters is trust in teammates.”
Once a goalkeeper in the Korea’s national team for the 1998 & 2002 World Cup, he is “a legend of the K-League” with all time high participation records in the K-League games. Also, he is renowned for joining in charitable activities.
Byung-soo Yoo (Incheon FC): “When you play futsal, you will have many opportunities to shoot. Check where the goalkeeper is, and then do not hesitate to shoot.
Byung-soo Yoo, 2010 K-League top scorer, started his professional soccer career with Incheon United.
He became not only the youngest who scored 20 goals, but also the top scorer as a Korean in the K-League, living up to fans’ high anticipation from his day one in Incheon. He is now aiming to be a key striker in the South Korea national team squad.
Ga-Eul Jeon: “If you are not good at tussling with others for the ball, you’d better avoid them with skills. Do not give up, and do your best to the last as a team.”
Gu-Eul, showing splendid techniques in the games, led her ex-home team to win the championship for the first time since its founding 3 years ago. Moreover, she was chosen as the WK-League top scorer as well as MVP in 2010. As she has made her marks in the international competitions, she is now called the best technician in the women’s soccer league in South Korea.
