Tottenham Hotspur FC have renewed the club’s partnership with Team India for the forthcoming Paris 2011 Homeless World Cup.
Spurs’ will continue their long-term commitment to supporting Krida Vikas Sanstha Nagpur (KVSN), the Homeless World Cup partner organisation in India, by financing two teams to attend the tournament next month.
India will be represented in the Homeless World Cup and Women’s Homeless World Cup in Paris, with both teams organised and managed by KVSN.
Tottenham Hotspur have supported Team India at the two previous editions of the Homeless World Cup, assisting them in competing in Milan (2009) and Rio de Janeiro (2010).
Charlie Wijernatra, Tottenham Hotspur Executive Director said, “We are pleased to be continuing our support for the Team India and the Homeless World Cup through our long-term partners KVSN and the Slum Soccer programme.
“The tournament has been hugely successful in helping to provide opportunities for homeless people from all over the world and we are delighted to be a part of that.”
Professor Vijay Barse, founder of KVSN added “This is fantastic news for us. The association with Tottenham Hotspur will also give us access to their sporting and commercial expertise, and bring inspiration not just to our team but to all those in India who are finding hope for the future through football.”
