Coach Andy Hooks Visit Ignites Football Passion in India

International Coach, Andy Hooks landed in India this month to strike up some passion and increase the slum football program across the country. The aim of Andy’s visit was to train Indian Slum footballers and to increase the popularity of football in Central India. This was the first time an International Coach had ever visited central India and was extremely well received from the media and the schools and other programs Andy visited.

A Football Tournament of Hope: Kicking off Poverty in Gondia

It was a glorious moment for the Yuva Slum Team; fireworks, and folk music played out as Yuva Slum team were crowned winners of the Dewaji Budhe Memorial 6th District level Slum Football Champions. After defeating Utkal Slum Stars in the Semi-Finals it was clear Yuva Team were up for a challenge. Yuva team maintained steady pressure on the Subodh Slum in the finals with their first goal scored in the 11th minute of the first half.

25-27 July 2008, Nagpur, Team India

25-27 July 2008, Nagpur: The Indian Slum Soccer team is one step closer to being finalized with completion of the second selection camp. This final phase of selection was successfully completed at the St. Ursula School Football Pitch on the 27th July.

Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan K.V.S.N Slum Soccer.

Keeping with its mandate of expanding to hitherto un-reached areas, Prof. Barse embarked on a two state visit.

Naval Masih Memorial 1st Slum Soccer Tournament was held at School Ground Ujjain (M.P.). Out of the 4 competing slums Valmiki Slum emerged as the winner. Four players from this tournament will be attending the 2nd Selection Trial at Nagpur from 25th to 27th July 2008.
