Ukraine (5) v (4) Portugal
And finally the big contest for the Homeless World Cup, has arrived.
Ukraine and Portugal met in the groupe phase too and the portuguese dismantled their opponents and they won 8-5.
But all is changed this afternoon. Ukraine was more confident with the game and they went to the pitch convinced to take the trophy.
Portugal played quite well with probably a little bit of emotion.
Ukraine took the lead after two minutes with a goal of Sergij Lytvynovskyy. Portugal replied soon with their best man, Bruno Silva.
The ukrainians controlled the game and they scored again with the same player before Portugal replied again thanks to an own goal from Sergii Kozhusko.
The first half was well balanced and before the end there were other two goals from Onischuk and Alexis Cabral.
At the beginnig of the second half, Ukraine took advantage again with the impressive Lytvynovskyy but Portugal recovered and they scored another goal with Fernando Santos.
There was a big crowd at the Arena and all the people were now expecting for the shoot out.
But one minute before the end, the referee conceded a clear penalty at the ukrainians and Lytvynovskyy again netted the goal for the final victory.
At the end there was a big celebrations for the ukrainian players while the portuguese were devastated for the negative result.
The cup is for Ukraine, but we have to give a big thank also to Portugal, that played a beautiful football through all the competition.
