Slovenia v Sweden

Slovenia (5) v Sweden (3)

Intelligent defense

Under heavy cheer the players from both Slovenia and Sweden entered the pitch for at game that was going to be a fight on marginals. Both teams showed us what a fast-moving defense and a good goalkeeper can do to a street football game. Best demonstrated by the Slovenians, the players quickly adapted their positioning to dispossessions and repelled many of the game's offensive moves. The Slovenian nr. 6 had his right toe on the right spot three times in the first half and scored a hattrick with three well-placed toe shots. By the end of the first half, Slovenia were ahead with 4-2.

The defensive game was tightened even further in the second half. Only one goal per squad was allowed to pass the two very well playing goalkeepers. One of them by the Swedish number 8, who recieved a good pass, turned and shot the ball first time, and the surprise made it impossible for the keeper to take. In the last few minutes, the Slovenian goalkeeper worked like Spider Man in the goal, blocking shot after shot by the eager Swedish attackers, who all lacked the last bit of precision to pass the phenomenal keeper in the Slovenian goal. With only 10 seconds to go, the Slovenians nailed their victory solid with a powerful shot from a well playing number 10 for the final score 5-3.
