Slovenia (5) v Kyrgyzstan (7)
The tribunes around pitch 1 were crowded as pitch 2 was closed down for the finals here at HWC, that are all played on pitch 2. In the first final for the INSP, and a game for the total rankings 41 and 42, Kyrgyzstan and Slovenia were the squads to settle the score. Kyrgyzstan is one of the few teams of the tournament whose starting squad is manly women, but don't take them lightly. Especially their number 7, who has had a fantastic tournament, and is nominated to be the best female player.
The first minutes were owned by Kyrgyzstan, as they brought themselves ahead with three goals to none. Slovenia had troubles penetrating the Kyrgyzstani defense, and only netted the ball twice in the first half, whereas Kyrgyzstan did so five times. They were even literally one second away from making the sixth, but their goal was canceled, as the referee had just called off the first half for the halftime score 5-3.
Second half had much of the same tones as the first. The Slovenian number 10 with good (and very long) legs did a good effort to even the score. He has played well in the tournament so far, and he had five attempts on goal within few minutes, only lacking inches of precision to get it in. Finally he succeeded, twice within just 20 seconds, and the last three minutes were intense as Slovenia were just one goal behind with 5-6, and did a good job trying to even out the score. But they could not, and seconds before the final whistle, the Kyrgyzstani players settles the score at 5-7 which was the final score.
