Scotland v Liberia
Scotland (4) v Liberia (3)
It was no surprise that the big crowd holding on after Denmark's disappointing defeat saw a fantastic display of incisive attacking football here - as well as a fair share of nervousness and unforced errors. Scotland might have nicked it, but many of the plaudits at the end were for Sawie Pewee, the rock of a paper thin Liberian squad playing through yet another fixture in their punishing schedule. It was to the Scots' credit that they singled the star out at the end for a huge roar from the crowd.
Scotland by contrast are very much a team, their easy style of quick passing and deadly finishing has seen them progress serenely through this tournament and although captain Paul Smith's long range shooting was off radar this evening, striker Brodie was as accurate as ever. He lashed home the first and was an ever present threat providing the reliable focal point to the Scottish patient passing.
In the crucial last minutes though it was the crossbar that starred. Liberia smashed it against the frame of the goal while one goal up and almost immediately a Scotland counter attck had brought the scores level. One long range belter later - followed by an agonising last minute - and we were guaranteed one more rendition of the Proclaimers '500 miles' at tomorrow's final.
