HOMELESS WORLD CUP KICKS OFF

The Copenhagen 2007 Homeless World Cup, the international football tournament changing lives, kicks off on Sunday 29 July 2007 at 12.00pm, City Hall Square, Copenhagen. 500 players, 48 nations will march through the City to the stadium.

12.00PM Opening Ceremony

12.20PM Kick Off First Match: Simon and Jonatan Richter, FC Nordsjaelland will kick the first ball for Denmark the host nation who will be playing in the first game

The Homeless World Cup will bring true grit, spirit and glory of the beautiful game to the City Hall Square, Copenhagen from 29 July – 4 August 2007. 77% of the players change for the better coming off drugs and alcohol, moving into jobs, homes, training, and education, becoming football coaches or players.  An estimated 25,000 players were involved in pre-tournament training and trials around the world for the Copenhagen 2007 Homeless World Cup.
