Poland v Spain
Poland (12) v Spain (1)
Having beaten Germany in their first game, Poland were looking to top their group by beating the Spaniards.
On first glance, this match seemed to be between the small, quick Spaniards against the tall and physical Poles. The Poles proved once again to be more than just powerhouses, and demonstrated their skills to the onlooking crowd. After 2 and a half minute Poland were already ahead 6-0.
At the start of the second half Poland had some good chances but were denied by some good saves and narrow misses. 2 Minutes into the second half Spain scored their first and only goal of the game however, their number 10 receiving the encouraging cheers from the crowd.
The Polish number 11 claimed 4 goals and the number 6 netted a hat trick, but Poland's success was down to good team play and classy passing. Poland win 12-1.
