Poland were too strong for the South Africans in this Group B match, taking it 8-1 in the end.
Two goals in the first minute showed to Poland instantly showed off their pace and physical strength.
The goals came quickly for the Europeans, sharing them between Tomasz Rudyk and Marcin Zakowski, as they took it out to a 6-0 lead within four minutes.
The South Africans were determined to maintain possession and deny the opposition of the ball, and succeeded in stopping the scoring, holdiong it to 6-0 at half time.
The Polish stepped up their intensity early in the second half, and found open space through hard running
The South Africans managed to contain the scoring until the fifth minute, but couldn't get one for themselves.
It seemed only a matter of time before the Africans would score but the Polish rallied to put on two in a minute.
A consolation came for South Africa when Kalpens slotted through their first in the final minute.
Polish keeper Druzbicki was clearly best on ground, as they held onto their fourth position in the pool.
