Poland defeated Norway 8-5 in an exciting match full of goal for goal clashes at the Melbourne pitch.

The win keeps Poland in contention for the Dignitary Cup.

The first half was tight with Norway determined to stay in the game.

3-1 down, the Norwegian coach called for a substitution.

The move was wise with Arild Haland offering new energy to the side.

Within seconds on the pitch he weaved through the wall of defence - giving a terrific back pass to Tron Langaland who scored their second goal.

In the second half, Poland was quick to return to a two goal buffer after scoring in the first 10 seconds.

A heavy downpour on the pitch did not slow down the game but out of nowhere a clan of Polish supporters appeared among the dwindling crowds to cheer on their nation.

This encouraged Poland to net two more bringing the score to 6-2.

But Norway wasn't going to give up just yet.

Within seconds of Oddvar Anderson scoring Norway's third, he sets up a stunning pass to Trond Laland - to the Polish crowd's dismay.

Poland again responded with Tomasz Rudyk scoring a cheeky inside foot goal.

The advantage increased to 8-5 with Norway unable to fight back.
