Norway v England
Norway (4) v (17) England
Following mixed fortunes so far in the Homeless World Cup England faced another tough hurdle in the form of an impressive Norwegian side. After 80 seconds Norway had damaged England's hopes of victory by putting 3 away, with two from Sunday's fair play award winner captain Sorensen. The pace was very high with excellent passing from both teams, and it appeared England had the stamina to outrun the Norwegian team. They came from 4-0 down to sneak into the lead before half time, making the score 5-4 going into half time. England had to work hard for their fifth however, with the Norwegian keeper saving 4 attempts before his defences were breached.
The second half could be described as nothing less than a routing by England, with the initial 4-0 defecit a distant memory by the end. Showing no mercy, the play was fast and physical, with the green-shirted England players (due to a clash of red shirts) putting 12 more away by the end of the game. Surely one of the comebacks of the tournament. Perhaps England should think about using the green shirts permanently if this is the effect they have.
