Following their win against India, Nigeria wowed the Federation pitch crowd with a 15 -1 victory over the Philippines.
Confirming their place in the top half of Group D, Nigeria took a quick lead, scoring their first goal in the opening minutes of the game. It was a game of fast foot work as both teams impressed with their ball control and passing skills. Taking control, the Nigerians had the Philippine team running after the ball, as they weaved passes across the pitch and into the net. Scoring eight goals in the first half, the Nigerians executed quick, efficient goals that slotted smoothly past the keeper. By the end of the first half, the Philippine's defence had strengthened and Kevin P Logioy came inches away from scoring the Philippine's first goal.
The Philippine's defence entered the second half even stronger than before and keeper Marlon Lagundino denied countless Nigerian attempts on goal. A quick Nigerian goal was met by the Philippine's long-awaited first goal of the match as Jay R De Jesus slotted a powerful ball into the corner of the net. However it wasn't enough to stop the Nigerians, who powered through six more goals before the end of the match. Their second win of the day, the Nigerian's must have a thing for the number 15 as this has been their score in both games today!
