Mexico (4) v Netherlands (4) (Netherlands win 3-2 in pens)
In this third final of the day Mexico and Netherlands were the two possible winners of the Hus Forbi Trophy, the Danish Magazine sold by the homeless in Copenhagen. As in the other finals it was a close match.
Mexico did a fantastic job keeping possession in the first five minutes of the game where they netted two goals, both with a powerful shot from long distance. They clearly dominated the pitch managing to dispossess the Netherlanders before they got their play going. Mexico's tough defense breached only once in the first half, where the Netherlander with number 7 sprinted from the middle along the side piercing the defense with dribbles and finishing in the corner for the halftime score 2-1.
Second half went away in the same manner, only this time, the Mexican possession play was broken by the Netherlanders' defense that got a very good grip of the Mexicans, moving quickly in position and dispossessing well. In the other end, Netherlands's number 9 did a fantastic job with three very good attempts at goal and finally his struggles payed off with an equalizing goal to 2-2. Shortly after Netherlands's number 11 fooled everybody with very nice assist. Without looking, he passed the ball using the rebound of the side, delivering the ball perfectly for number 9, who had a gaping hole to shoot at. The Mexican number 7 hammered the ball in the net, evening the score. And with one more goal for each team, the final whistle blew at an even score 4-4, and the referee called for the penalty shootout.Unlike most of the penalty shootouts in the tournament, this one was in the hands of the shooters, who really had their legs working well for them. With 3-2 the Netherlands won the shootout, as the goalkeeper did a fantastic job parrying the last shot.
