Colombia experienced its first loss of the tournament today, going down to Liberia 8-5 after a closely-fought match.

Liberia took the lead from the kick off, netting two goals within the first 45 seconds.

Colombia responded with a well-placed goal by Maryury.

Liberia's fancy footwork guaranteed another goal from Veronica Davies, or Lady Ochia as she is nicknamed.

With a stream of shots on goal and fantastic keeping from both sides, Colombia's Maryury scored her second goal of the match to bring the game to a draw at half time.

Liberia powered into the second half with a handful of near misses at goal.

Colombia's Estefania Palomino Velasco took the first goal of the half, before Liberia's Lady Ochia found an opening and slid the ball past the keeper to even up the score again.

Colombia's goalkeeper Viviana Andrea Riveros Pulido put her body on the line with a series of spectacular saves.

Liberia's star forward Lady Ochia was sent off with a blue card, but an undaunted Liberia managed to score again with one woman down.

After another goal from Colombia's Maryury and Liberia's Monica H. Cooper, Colombia's keeper was again put to the test.

Liberia powered through with another two goals, taking the match with 8-5.
