Female patienceOpening up this game, Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong lined up for a good photo opportunity. Both teams showing their flag, standing arms over shoulders showing spirit of unity which describes the tournament.
Kyrgyzstan is one of the few teams in this tournament, whose players are mostly women. They are not, however, to be taken lightly. From the start they showed the players from Hong Kong that they intended to win the match. A few good attempts failed, and the Hong Kong player 8 shows very nice legwork and setting the score 1-0. The Kygyzstani players play intelligently using the rebound of the sides and passing patiently maintaining posession. Their play gives some good opportunities, but the Hong Kong goalkeeper shows excellent skills in the box, saving some powerful strikes and a penalty.
Hong Kong bring themselves to a comfortable 3-1 lead at halftime, but Kyrgystan were quick to recover in the beginning of the 2nd half.
Starting off the 2nd half, Hong Kong has a few good strikes, but the score remains 3-1. Then Kyrgyzstan got their legs working. They take out their only male field player, and the three women show what female patience can do to a match. Using intelligent passing play, they keep possession and outplays the Hong Kong players during the remaining of the match. In the Kyrgysztani goal, the keeper gets a hang of the Honk Kong players and saves a few very good plays from the Hong Kong players. With just 30 seconds left, the Kyrgysztani number 7 passes flat crossing the penalty area opening the goal freely for number 20 to finish setting the final score 4-3.
