Kenya (9) v (3) Hong Kong

Kenya has temporarily climbed to the top of Group D after a clinical second half display against Hong Kong snagged them a 9-3 win.

John Njoroge opened the scoring for the Kenyans, finding time at the top of the circle after a series of passes had spread the Hong Kong side to slide a clever pass into the goal.

Hong Kong gave the Kenyans a taste of their own medicine, with Chun Fat Hui scoring when he was found at the back post after a several passes stretched the Kenyans.

Both sides were using frequent passing as a means to evade defenders, with a goal being scored by both teams before half time to leave the sides locked on 2-2.

But the Africans took control of the match after half time, scoring eight goals to Hong Kong’s one.

Stephen Mwankik Kiai scored two great goals to start the second half, taking advantage of a rebound off the wall which he calmly shot past the outstretched goalkeeper.

The Kenyan defence was only beaten once during the half, when a powerful shot from Wing Ki Chan found the back of net from the side line.

Elijah Njegu Kariuki finished the scoring for the Kenyans, sneaking a shot at the near post.

Kenya goes on to face a dangerous Brazil in a top of the table clash of Group D.
