IRELAND has delivered a warning to its opponents, running over the top of the USA to record an 11-2 victory.
The match began with a lot of postulating with each side testing out the other's strengths and weaknesses.
Ireland was on the front foot from the start, firing its first shot on goal with less than 30 seconds on the clock.
The opening minute saw a goal for Ireland's Jimmy Bell who proved to be a star player throughout the game both in attack and defence.
Ireland goalkeeper Thomas Cullen skidded for a beautiful save against a powerful strike delivered by the USA's Cornelius Cruz.
A penalty against the USA allowed Ireland to score another goal, bringing the scores to 2-1 within the first two minutes of the game.
Ireland's accuracy within the goal area enabled it to dominate the first half. Its short, sharp passes kept the USA on the back foot and would often lure the goalkeeper to one side allowing Ireland a reasonably free shot.
The first half proved to be a tremendous game of football with Ireland forcing USA to put up a strong defence. Johny Figueroa and Cruz were fearless in defence for the USA.
Carlos Gonzalez made numerous attempts on goal for the USA, unfortunately his shots were not powerful enough to pass Ireland's goalkeeper.
The USA goalkeeper made some brilliant saves as they tried to limit the damage, but their defence was just a couple of steps behind Ireland's powerful attackers.
USA managed to sneak in a second goal with 10 seconds to go, but it was little consolation as Ireland ran out convincing 11-2 winners.
